Embracing Change, Expressing Gratitude, and Navigating the Future of Remote Work

Hey remoters,

It’s been a while but there’s been big changes. After 5 years, I quit my full-time remote job 🤯

I finished 2 weeks ago and since I’ve been enjoying some downtime, family time and a couple of trips away.

During my last day of work, I had a few goodbye calls — where we reflected on the good times over the years and without being prompted everyone on those calls said the kindest words to me.

It was overwhelming. But in a good way.

They shared why they valued my work ethic and everything I have done for the company. Some of those people I worked with for years and I never knew how much I had truly impacted their time at work so this was extra special to hear. But this got me thinking…It shouldn’t take for someone to leave, to hear how great you thought they were.

So, if you value your team, value the people you work closely with — tell them. Don’t wait for them to leave — the importance of keeping good talent should go above and beyond anything else.

So if you do anything else today, tell your team that you appreciate them!

As for what’s next — I’ll be taking a well-earned career break to reset and find my next challenge. In the meantime, I’ll be exploring personal projects, continuing to grow my newsletter and reconnecting with passions like writing & art and of course, continuing to travel the world! 🌍

Hit reply and tell me what you’d do if you were to take a career break — or maybe you’re enjoying one too, lets chat!
