AllThingsRemote Newsletter: Your collection of resources & digital nomad news to help you embrace your remote work & travel journey - collated & curated for you!

Hey remoters,

It's Samantha from AllThingsRemote. After a week in Malaysia — at the Short-Stay Summit in Kuala Lumpur & Digital Nomad conference in Langkawi, I’m back in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The home of good coffee, good people and a whole lot of nature.

But… after spending some time on the beautiful island of Langkawi where the coconuts are as large as my head, I've recently been intrigued by the Digital Nomad Visa in Greece.

Just picture it — a year of island hopping, mornings at the beach, and way too many Greek salads. Good vibes all around! ☀️

Here’s how you can too, unlock your dream of remote working in Greece!

With over 1,693 digital nomad visas already granted it seems to be picking up traction. Starting in October 2023, the said-to-be fast-processing application will have new financial prerequisites. To apply you must have a minimum monthly income of €3,500 and if you plan to bring a spouse and or one dependent, you need to be earning more than €4,830 per month.

Could you see yourself living in Greece for 1 year?

Resources for Digital Nomads & Remote Workers:

The Guardian have said it themselves, digital nomads have transitioned from being unconventional to becoming mainstream within a decade.

There are approximately one in nine (11%) U.S. employees who call themselves digital nomads, and projections suggest the worldwide digital nomad population may surpass 40 million in the current year, ultimately reaching approximately 60 million by 2030. These figures are mega!! 🤯

So, as we can see the trend of working remotely is still very much on the rise, and RemoteBase, along with insights from Chris Cerra have you covered with their expert strategies for securing cost-effective accommodation options for your nomadic journey 🌍

ATR TIP: For new remote workers 👇

If you're new to remote work, it's important to establish a dedicated workspace to enhance your productivity. You'll need to maintain a clear boundary between work and personal life and you can do this by following these 3 simple steps:

  1. Designate a Workspace: Choose a dedicated area for work, whether that’s from home, a coffee shop or a co-work space — build a routine for yourself. 🏠

  2. Organise: Keep this space tidy ✨

  3. Set Boundaries: Communicate your work hours to friends, family, and colleagues to minimize interruptions 🚫

Fun fact of the month 🤯

Last week I spent my work days at the JetPack co-working space in Langkawi and the Wi-Fi speed there soared past 500 Mbps. Who knew islands could serve up Wi-Fi faster than a caffeine-addicted squirrel on rollerblades? 🏝💨💻😂
